Tasting Notes
The Kreuznacher Paradies is the flagship expression of Weingut Korrell — a wine that speaks directly of place. The nose is elegant and expressive: ripe peaches and apricots intertwined with juicy mandarin, delicate notes of honeydew melon, and a whisper of vanilla. On the palate it is powerful yet refined, offering rich, concentrated fruit underpinned by the hallmark racy acidity of Nahe Riesling, anchored by a subtle, stony minerality drawn from its shell limestone and clay marl soils. The finish is long and taut, brimming with tension and potential. At 7.2 g/l residual sugar it sits firmly in the dry register, yet delivers the generosity and complexity that justifies its flagship status. Certified organic — a wine of rare precision from one of Germany's top estates.
Key Selling Points
The Paradies is the flagship vineyard and the heart of Weingut Korrell — one of the Nahe's most prestigious single-vineyard sites. The Korrell family, originally from Spain, has farmed in Bad Kreuznach for approximately 250 years (est. 1832), now in its sixth generation under Martin and Britta Korrell. The 9.5-hectare Paradies site is planted with up to 40-year-old Riesling vines on warm shell limestone and clay marl soils, southwest-facing with slopes up to 52%. The estate is certified organic (DE-ÖKO-039) and classified by wein.plus as one of the best producers in Germany.
