The Miller Ranch Sauvignon Blanc is Silverado Vineyards at its most refreshing and precise — a wine that makes a compelling argument for Napa Valley as a home for great white wine. The vineyard sits south of Yountville on the valley floor, nestled between the Napa River and Hopper Creek, where silty Yolo Loam and Clear Lake Clay soils combine with cooling bay breezes and morning fog from San Pablo Bay to create a growing environment better suited to aromatic whites than almost anywhere else in the valley. The 2024 pours a brilliant pale gold. The nose is immediately engaging: grapefruit, fresh lime and ripe stone fruit lead, followed by tropical accents of melon and a perfumed, lifted quality that speaks to the vineyard's cool microclimate. On the palate, the wine is bright, generous and well-focused. Lemon zest and honeydew melon carry across a soft, refreshing texture, while crisp acidity and a clean mineral finish provide definition and length. A 4% addition of Semillon contributes texture without weight. The result is a Napa Sauvignon Blanc that is both expressive and serious — approachable now, with enough character to hold for 2–3 years.

Winemaking

Estate-grown from Miller Ranch Vineyard, south of Yountville on the Napa Valley floor. Soil types: Yolo Loam and Clear Lake Clay — silty, cool and deep, ideal for aromatic whites. Cooling maritime influence: bay breezes and morning fog from San Pablo Bay provide natural temperature regulation. Varietal composition: 96% Sauvignon Blanc, 4% Semillon. Fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve fresh aromatics, green citrus and melon character. No oak ageing. Bottled under screw cap to maintain freshness. Winemaker: Alison Rodriguez.

Cellaring & Serving
